Simply Swimwear & Lingerie

Caring for your lingerie is essential to extending its lifespan and maintaining its quality. To keep your delicate undergarments in top condition, here are some tips to follow:

  1. Hand washing: Lingerie should be hand washed to prevent damage from the agitation of a washing machine. Use a gentle detergent and cold water to clean your lingerie. Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals that can weaken the fabric. (The “handwashing” cycle on your washing machine will still cause damage to your intimates.)
  2. Drying: After washing, gently squeeze out excess water from your lingerie without wringing or twisting the fabric. Lay your lingerie flat on a clean towel to air dry. Avoid using a dryer as the heat can damage delicate fabrics and elastic bands.
  3. Storage: To prevent snags and tears, store your lingerie in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider folding bras in a way that helps maintain their shape, and avoid overcrowding your storage to prevent stretching.

Storing your lingerie properly is another important step in ensuring that your intimate pieces stay in great condition!

We recommend organizing your lingerie drawer by category – bras, panties, stockings, etc. Use drawer dividers or small storage boxes to keep items separated and prevent tangling. It’s also a good idea to line the drawer with a soft fabric or paper to prevent snagging delicate fabrics.

For bras, consider stacking them on top of each other to maintain their shape. Panties and thongs can be folded and stacked neatly. Stockings and delicate pieces should be stored flat to avoid stretching or tearing. Consider hanging delicate items like silk robes or babydolls in a closet using padded hangers.

By following these simple care and organizational tips, you can keep your lingerie looking beautiful and well-organized for a long time.
